South African app devs Fuzzy-Logic win Best AR Developer Award

Fuzzy-Logic, a George-based company that develops apps for iOS and Android can now say they are the holders of the Best AR (augmented reality) Developer Award from the AR Summit 2013. The company’s  ‘Birthday Card AR’ and ‘AppTag’ titles were responsible for leading them to victory this year after being nominated for the award last year. The company is headed up by Jason Ried, a veteran game producer from the UK gaming industry who has worked for the likes of Eidos Interactive and Disney Interactive on games like ‘Split/Second’.

Birthday Card AR turns 2-D birthday cards into interactive 3-D cards while AppTag allows players to interact with their environment and others players in a 3-D first person shooter.

“We are thrilled to be recognised as AR Developer of 2013. This demonstrates how the most simple of ideas can lead to an interactive and brilliantly original campaign. To be ranked as the best augmented reality developer in one of Europe’s most prestigious awards is a major accomplishment for our team,” said  Ried.
