5 game crossovers we’d love to play

With Ubisoft hinting at the possibility of a crossover between its Assassin’s Creed and Watch_Dog franchises, it got us thinking: What other games would we love to see crossovers between? Below, you’ll find the answers.

World-Of-Starcraft

World of Starcraft

How kick-ass would it be to play a massively-multiplayer online game set in the Starcraft universe? Imagine taking on Kerrigan and her Zerg horde by yourself or with friends in third person, doing quests to help Jim Raynor take down Arctutus Mengsk once and for all , teaming up with Tychus for rumbles against the Zerg and Protoss, and hey, maybe even seeing the conflict from the Protoss’s perspective. We think it would be utterly amazeballs, and hope that somewhere, deep in Bunker Blizzard there are minions working on exactly that.

gt5-4

Grand Theft Turismo

Imagine a Grand Theft Auto game where the autos you grand theft are as accurately-modelled as those from Sony’s award-winning Gran Turismo series. That means you could use real-world driving techniques for evading the police, rather than learning how to drive all over again while adapting to GTA physics. How satisfying would it it be to execute perfect drifts during every heist mission, or get away clean because your real-world driving skills translate effortlessly into the game? You could even cause pileups that the game’s cops can’t just smash through without effort thanks to realistic physics. Now that’s a game!

Plants-vs-Zombies-2-11_small

Angry Birds vs. Zombies

Plants shmants – what the Plants vs. Zombies franchise needs is a bunch of Angry Birds to do the zombie-bashing. We can already see it: pissed-off parakeets clawing away at the skin of the undead, and rampaging woodpeckers executing the quintessential zombie-offing move: penetrating the brain.

Our favourite hopeful, though, is having an ostrich taking a running kick and despatching with a handful of rotting, groaning foot-shufflers in a hurry.

Portal's Edge_small

Portal’s Edge

Combine the realism of Faith’s movements with the quantum tunneling action from the Portal series and mix the environments from Mirror’s Edge with those of Aperture Laboratories, and voila, instant money. Throw in a bit of tension with something chasing you all the time, and really put those portals to creative use as you evade your pursuers by going in here and coming out over there, or facing down your hunters, confident in the knowledge that you are about to open a second portal beneath their feet while the other waits out of sight, above a deep pit…

LEGO-Minifigure-Zombie

LEGO Walking Dead

If it’s one franchise that needs the cutesy LEGO treatment, it’s The Walking Dead. Instead of gore and dismemberments, you’d have red LEGO studs bouncing all over the place whenever violence happens, and just think of all the funny scenes developers could create using the natural two-piece nature of LEGO people in a world where the dead don’t die even if you cut them in half. Pure genius!
