Sony teases new Xperia Z3 smartphones at IFA

We’ve loved Sony’s latest range of flagship Xperia smartphones and tablets ever since we first saw them at Mobile World Congress in February, but it looks like the flagships are about to be replaced by a slew of new models that will be announced at IFA in Berlin next week.

Sony has released a video teasing its event at IFA which features a brief shot of three shadowy figures which look like they could be two smartphones and a small tablet. That would point directly to the rumoured refresh at the top of Sony’s smartphone line with the new Xperia Z3 expected to be a minor update to the Xperia Z2 we reviewed earlier in the year.

Also on the cards is a replacement for the Xperia Z1 Compact, which may skip a digit to become the Xperia Z3 Compact when it is announced at the show.

That leaves just one more thing to be announced from the video which looks to be a small 7-8 inch tablet which could be a rumoured Xperia Tablet Z2 Compact which would compliment the tablet line up in much the same way that the Z1 Compact did for the phone line up.

We’ve been very impressed with Sony’s phones and tablets in the last few months and can’t wait to get our hands on whatever they serve up after IFA this year.
