Facebook launches “On This Day” personal history button

Looking for something you or a friend posted on Facebook a few years ago but aren’t up to ploughing through tons of recent updates on a timeline? Facebook’s new “On This Day” feature can help.

Similar to Timehop, On This Day shows you content that was posted on the same date from as far back as when you opened up your Facebook account. Only you will see the old content unless you decide to share it with your friends.

The feature is not yet available for all users, but when it does become available, you can access it On This Day by clicking on the bookmark and you’ll be able to see it on your News Feed in the app, or you can visit On This Day on desktop and mobile.

“Once on the page, you can choose to subscribe to notifications so you’ll be alerted when you have memories to look back on. You can also edit and delete old posts, or decide to share your memories with friends,” said Facebook.

Facebook will be making the feature available for all users in the coming weeks.
