Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V isn’t just one of the best open world games ever created – it’s a playground for creative modders.

We’e seen a number of recreations of many films and videos made with characters from the game, but digital creator AnimalRobot has taken it one step further.

With the released of the N.W.A biographic film Straight Outta Compton, AnimalRobot decided to pay homage to the first gangsta rap group to make it big – by recreating and re-imagining the original Straight Outta Compton music video.

He used GTA V’s Rockstar Editor and Adobe Premiere and included a number of scenes that weren’t present in the original, but makes perfect sense in a GTA context. (We’re betting that if Eazy-E had had the money, the original video would probably have included a car chase and a helicopter crash).

“I think we’re at the beginning of video games becoming very sophisticated tools for filmmaking. I thought that a ’Straight Outta Compton’ and ’GTA’ mashup would be an interesting way to explore this, with all the attention around the movie, and because the narrative of N.W.A and “Straight Outta Compton” is such a great fit for the world of ’GTA,” he recently told MTV.
