Play this game and get two years free software development training

Johannesburg-based youngsters interested in learning how to code can apply for a spot in the free one year WeThinkCode_ developers programme, which starts in March next year.

WeThinkCode_ hails from France, and offers free coding internships and incubation for young people to be able to pursue careers and entrepreneurship opportunities in ICT.

In order to qualify, you’ll have to do a two-part aptitude test. The first is a memory game, where you have to play and get to the seventh level out of 20, and the higher you get, the better your chances.

In the second game, which is only opened if you get beyond level seven, you have to find your way out of a maze within two hours.

WeThinkCode_ is looking for 100 students for the first course, and the coding campus will be based in the Johannesburg CBD, but the exact location is still to be confirmed.

The complete course structure is made up of eight months to be spent learning on campus, thereafter students will spend four months doing an internship at a top company, and then go back to spend another eight months going through the course and four months doing an internship again.

The good news is all internships are both paid and guaranteed, but you’ll be expected to pay for your own living expenses after you’ve gone through and completed the programme.

WeThinkCode_ is open to people between 17 and 35 years old; those from disadvantaged backgrounds and townships are particularly encouraged to apply. No application fees are required.

Interested? Head over to the WeThinkCode_ website now to fill in the application form, and you’ll get access to the games.
