Hans Fouche and his company Fouche 3D Printing is on a roll with their real-world demonstrations of what can be pulled off with the rather large Cheetah 2 3D printer. First it was a working lawnmower, then a car jack, and now it’s an acoustic guitar.

Based on a wooden Yamaha guitar, the final print weighs more than its wooden counterpart at 3.5 kilograms. Compared to the 2.2 kilograms of the original variant, the print is made up of a solid ABS neck and a sound box that has a six millimetre wall thickness.

There’s a video showing off the guitar in action, albeit with sub par sound quality. Fouche promises an update video in the future with better recording, as well as a comparison with the normal guitar.
