#Elections: Voters can catch an Uber at a discounted price tomorrow

Uber is offering discounted rides to voters across South Africa on election day tomorrow.

The ride-sharing company has encouraged South Africans to use their democratic right to vote in the 2016 Municipal Elections tomorrow to make their voices heard.

“Uber wants to make voting that much easier; on the 3rd of August 2016 Uber South Africa is proud to provide riders in Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, R30 off all rides to and from polling stations. With the ease of Uber’s service, you’ll feel like we’re bringing the ballot to you,” the company said.

To hail a discounted Uber cab, you must open the app and enter the promo code “VOTESA” in the “Promotions” tab.

When you’re ready to head to your voting station, request a ride. You’ll get R30 off this ride and should you want to request another ride to leave the station, you’ll get R30 off this trip as well.

The promotion is open to both new and existing Uber riders. The code will apply between 7am and 9pm tomorrow.
