Tetsuya Nomura’s reimagines DC Comic’s Joker for Square Enix’s Play Arts Kai Figure Range

Kingdom Hearts creator and famed Square Enix character designer, Tetsuya Nomura has re-imagined DC comic’s the Joker.

Nomura’s design will be used for Square Enix’s range of Variant Play Arts Kai figures and features a rather extreme weaponised exoskeleton. Check it out below:

The figure includes seven interchangeable head options, including a traditional Joker face, one that resembles Kefka from Final Fantasy VI and a heavily masked version among others which can viewed below.

The figure is currently listed at 32,184 JPY (~$290 or R3710) on Amazon Japan and 22,690 JPY (~$200 or R2615) via AmiAmi (if you pre-order it).

While Nomura’s Joker might seem overly dramatic to some, it fits right in with the theme of his previously designed Batman and Catwoman.

Nomura’s Batman and Catwoman Play Arts Kai figures carried price tags that were slightly lower at $249.99 (~R3200) and $149.99 (~R1900) respectively.

The Square Enix Variant Play Arts Kai Joker will be released during September 2017 so if you have a lot of spare money lying around and collecting figures is something you’re interested in, pre-orders are currently open.
