Apple is releasing a RED iPhone 8 and 8 Plus

Apple have announced today that it will be releasing a red iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in collaboration with HIV/AIDS charity project RED.

The smartphones will feature a red glass enclosure with a matching aluminum band and a sleek black front. Since partnering with RED back in 2006, Apple has donated more than $160 million to the Global Fund, serving as the organization’s largest corporate donor.

The RED iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will join the existing line up of RED devices and accessories that Apple has on offer.

The Product RED iPhones will be available for purchase for the same price as the existing models and Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing stated the following regarding the product’s announcement:

We are proud to support (RED) with this bold new iPhone and hope customers think it is as special as we do

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition will be available in select countries. A South African release date has not yet been confirmed.
