Soviet Union FPS ‘Atomic Heart’ gets a mind-bending trailer

Once in a while you’ll come across a game very few are talking about and you’ll be blown away by it. Atomic Heart is that game.

Billed as an “adventure first-person shooter” set in an ultimate reality during the time of the Soviet Union, the trailer below will bombard you with a lot of weird, mostly creepy locations and enemies.

In terms of gameplay we see a good mix of shooting as well as melee combat. At one point the player character eats something out of a can, which may be just to regain health or could tie into a survival mechanic.

We also see a degree of weapon customisation and players appear to be able to increase stats, as well as the aesthetics of a weapon.

That’s just about all there is to know about Atomic Heart right now. It’s billed for a 2018 release on PC, PlayStation and Xbox with a sparse Steam page up at time of writing.

Developer Mundfish has a second game in development – Soviet Luna Park VR – slated for a May 2018. The games look very similar but we’re not sure of the exact connection between the two. It certainly looks like they’re both set in the same universe.

If you want to keep up with the game make sure you follow it in the links provided in the video description.
