BBC Studios to host Doctor Who experience at Comic Con Africa 2018

We’re edging ever closer to Comic Con Africa 2018, with the continent’s inaugural event slated to have something for everybody, now Doctor Who fans will be able to get in on the action as well.

For Whovians, BBC Studios will have an “immersive experience” on show at Comic Con Africa 2018, with a TARDIS said to be central to what the British broadcaster has on offer.

For those uninitiated to Doctor Who, the TARDIS is the blue police box that the reality-warping series uses to transport the eponymous protagonist and their ever-changing sidekick.

What makes this experience all the more notable is that it will be used to usher in the upcoming 11th season of the wildly popular series, with this one also featuring the first ever female Doctor Who, played by Jodie Whittaker.

Although Whittaker will not be in attendance at Comic Con Africa 2018, BBC Studios in partnership with Showmax have promised VR experiences, videogames, giveaways and bunch of trivia-related activities over the course of the three-day long event.

There’ll also be cosplay sessions between 13:00 and 14:00 during each day of Comic Con Africa 2018.

As for the upcoming series of Doctor Who, Showmax will have it exclusively available on its platform later this year when it begins broadcasting in the UK.

Comic Con Africa 2018 is happening from 14th to 16th September at the Kyalami Convention Centre, with tickets for the Friday said to be still be available.
