The Binding of Isaac: Repentance teased, but it’s probably Antibirth

Just when we thought that The Binding of Isaac was finished being updated, we get a teaser for more.

Series creator Edmund McMillen tweeted out a slow reveal video of a new logo sporting the subtitle “Repentance”.

The same video can also be found on the YouTube channel for the developer of the games, Nicalis, where it is shown that this game will be playable at PAX West, booth 233.

While we don’t have any confirmation yet, it’s very likely that Repentance will be an official incorporation of the mod known as Antibirth, which was well received by the community and contained a ludicrous amount of new content.

Also supporting this theory is the fact that the logos for the two titles are almost identical, and the Antibirth creators curated some content that’s in the official game, so we know that the two teams have already worked together.

Right now the mod only works with The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, which is not the latest incarnation of the game, that being Afterbirth+. Repentance will, hopefully, bring the Antibirth additions into Afterbirth+.

Man, we just wrote “birth” so many times it has lost its meaning.

With no release date for Repentance  yet, it’s likely that we’ll be playing The Binding of Isaac card game Four Souls first. After a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, it’s on track for a November 2018 release.
