Konami announces PES 2019 Lite as free-to-play version of the game

If you’re looking to play a game this long weekend, but don’t want to pay anything, you’re in luck as Konami just announced PES 2019 Lite.

This is a stripped down version of the fully fledged game that the Japanese developer released earlier this year, and is freely available to download and play on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC.

This latest offering is free-to-play, but Konami notes that in-game purchases will cost you some cash.

In terms of what’s available on PES 2019 Lite, Konami says it will have all the regular modes including unrestricted access to MyClub. That particular mode allows gamers to assemble squads featuring their favourite players from the current in-game teams, along with some football icons of the past.

Other notable modes includes the 3v3 PES League designed for time-limited tournaments, as well as the ability to work through training skills and offline exhibition matches.

There’s also the ability to edit players, teams, uniforms and stadiums, which means gamers with enough time on their hands can get around some the licensing limitations that the PES franchise has routinely suffered from.

With EA Sports’ FIFA still the more popular of the two footballing titles, perhaps PES 2019 Lite could help Konami get a few more gamers over to its side.
