Latest Galaxy S10 leak showcases punch hole display design

It’s the start of a new year, and for those not following the happenings in Las Vegas for CES 2019, Mobile World Congress next month is usually the first big tech event for the year.

As with past years most of the attention will be on the new flagship phones that will be announced, and Samsung’s in particular.

With that in mind a newly leaked image has surfaced courtesy of phone leaker extraordinaire Evan Blass on Twitter showcasing what is reportedly the upcoming Galaxy S10.

What makes this leak more interesting from previous ones is the fact that it reveals the pinhole punch screen design that’s being touted for Samsung’s latest flagship phone.

With the company shying away from the typical screen notch design seen in other devices, the pinhole looks to be Samsung’s answer for more display real estate while also ensuring a front facing camera is present.

Of course Samsung has not commented on the leaked image, but given Blass’ history, this picture is more than likely the real deal.

As such, pinholes may become the new standard for smartphones moving forward, especially if the Galaxy S10 turns into a successful device for the South Korean manufacturer, potentially prompting other Android device makers to follow suit.

While we have not seen this design in person, it certainly is far more aesthetically pleasing than the screen notches that dominated last year.

As we near closer to MWC 19‘s day zero for phone launches, 24th February, there will no doubt be more information about the Samsung Galaxy S10 and other flagship devices in the coming weeks.
