Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gets cross-platform release for 15th November

This past weekend served up quite a bit of Star Wars related tidbits to feast on, with a teaser trailer for The Rise of the Skywalker film and a look at the gameplay for the upcoming Vader VR game surfacing.

We were also greeted by a trailer for another gaming title – Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

We don’t know much about the project, which is being worked on by EA and Respawn Entertainment, but the trailer featured below did introduce us to a new protagonist in Star Wars gaming lore – Cal Kestis.

Kestis is a young padawan on the run from the Empire after Order 66, and for the first half of the trailer keeps his head down and does not try to stir up any trouble. That quickly changes as Kestis has to put his Force powers to use in a few interesting ways.

He also gets his hands on a lightsaber towards the end of the trailer, but we don’t get to see him wield it. As such it’s unknown who will be the master to this apprentice, if there is indeed one.

For now we’ll only have the trailer to enjoy, with Fallen Order scheduled to arrive later this year on 15th November. In terms of availability it’s going to be a cross-platform title, with PS4, Xbox One and PC all receiving their own iterations. It seems the Switch is being left out this time around, but that isn’t too surprising.

Whether we’ll want to actually play the game remains to be seen, with the history of Star Wars titles being a tad hit or miss. We really enjoyed Star Wars Unleashed for example, but the recent Battlefront games’ loot box issues severely hampered the overall experience.

With quite a few months to go until Fallen Order launches, we’re sure that they’ll be plenty more trailers in the offing, with E3 2019 being the most likely place where more gameplay will be revealed.
