Nokia 7.2 hits South Africa on 20th November

In recent months Nokia Mobile (owned by HMD Global) has released a number of budget-friendly smartphones locally, and the latest addition to the lineup is the Nokia 7.2.

The new device was only revealed to global audiences a couple of months ago, and makes it way to our shores tomorrow (20th November) via Vodacom. In keeping with Nokia Mobile’s aggressive pricing, the 7.2 will cost a recommended R6 299.

So what is the Nokia 7.2 packing under the bonnet?

The big talking points here are the display and camera. The former is a 6.3″ FullHD+ screen with a selfie notch at the top housing a 20MP front-facing camera. The camera setup on the rear is getting a lot of attention though, with it featuring a trio of lenses – 48MP, 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP depth sensing options.

Sitting below the rear camera is a fingerprint sensor, with a pure version of Android 9.0 Pie running things. Keeping the Nokia 7.2 ticking over is a Snapdragon 660 chipset, 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage (microSD slot for up to 512GB).

While there are three different colour options available, only the charcoal version is coming to South Africa at this stage, which is a pity as the Cyan Green option in the header image is rather eye catching.

With HMD Global having a solid history of good value for money devices, the Nokia 7.2 looks to be another one, on paper at least.
