After all of those Seraph Tower events, The Lie quest is bugged

At the weekend Destiny 2 players jumped in en-masse to complete a community event that landed with the grace of a five tonne cannonball shot at a city made of match sticks.

Last week the community was tasked with completing nine million instances of the Seraph Tower seasonal event together. At first the community was adamant that it was not going to do the event stating that the event was boring, overly difficult and difficult to find people for, among other things.

Bungie quickly implemented a change which increased progression five times during the week and 10 times at the weekend. Simply put, your one completion counted for 10 if you did a Seraph Tower at the weekend.

In the wee hours of Monday morning, the community managed to finish the first step of The Lie.

Progress as tracked by Charlemagne.

There is another step to this quest which we won’t spoil. You’ll head to a location, scan three points and then you are done.

Players then needed to head to Ana Bray who tasked them with acquiring 1000 Shotgun kills around the system or in the Crucible.

This step took us all of 20 minutes. Head to the Castellum in the Leviathan raid, equip your favourite Shotgun (or equip three Shotguns like we did) and get those kills.

Once the thousandth body has been shot full of lead you will need to head to the Seraph Bunker on the Moon only this is where things are currently bugged.

Upon visiting the bunker and starting the next quest step, players will interact with Rasputin before starting a mission.

As of time of publication, when starting this mission players will be transported to Sanctuary on the Moon. This is not meant to happen and Bungie has confirmed this.

“If you’re respawned at Eris when interacting with the Lie quest node on the Moon, you’re in a bugged state,” the Destiny 2 community manager known as dmg reported on Twitter.

Well that kinda sucks.

While it was disappointing to learn we would have to wait a while longer to explore the a potential secret on the Moon and progress this story of Rasputin, the Almighty and the Collapse 2.0, we also understand that much of Bungie’s development has been struck by the COVID-19 pandemic and the team having to work from home.

For now though we’ll have to wait for news on The Lie and when we can complete it. Seeing as the hardwork is now done, take your time getting those Shotgun kills.
