Two more Pokémon movies are now free to watch

Yesterday we brought you the news that Pokémon had made the surprising, but very welcome, decision to allow free streaming of the first three movies in the franchise. Now that deal has gotten even better with two more being added to the pile.

Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew (2005) as well as Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea (2006) are available right now. Simply click on the name of the movie you want to watch and you will be taken right to the stream.

Like the other three, these two new additions are hosted on the Pokémon TV platform. This means that, by following those links, you can start watching instantly without the need to do any extraneous work such as creating an account or starting a trial. It’s just free to click and watch.

Even better is that the quality problems seem to have been sorted out. When we tried to watch sections of the previous movies we found it to be a pixelated mess that wasn’t helped by a fast internet connection or by leaving the stream to buffer.

Without any toggles or options to change quality this is still a problem for the first three, but seems to not be affecting Mystery of Mew or Temple of the Sea. The quality can dip if you jump around the timeline too much but it seems stable overall.

These now five movies are part of a marathon that was announced on Twitter. Little further information such as the planned number of films or how long they will be available for free have been provided.

With around two dozen movies made over the decades of Pokémon we wouldn’t be surprised to see a few more added before we even reach anything released after 2010.

To mark the occasion trailers for each of the movies have been released on YouTube:
