Where to stream President Ramaphosa’s address to the nation this evening

President Cyril Ramaphosa will address South Africans for the first time since the nation entered Level 4 of a phased approach to lifting lockdown restrictions.

The address will commence at 20:30 this evening (13th May 2020) and will touch on South Africa’s ongoing measures to manage the spread of COVID-19.

This address follows “a number of meetings of Cabinet and the National Coronavirus Command Council” the Presidency reported earlier today.

Our go-to stream for these addresses is the SABC News YouTube channel. We’ve embedded the stream below but you can click this URL if you prefer to stream from YouTube directly.

If you prefer you can tune into the eNCA stream here.

For those who don’t want to make use of the YouTube streams, you can sign up for a free DStv Now account here where you will be able to stream from either eNCA or Newzroom Afrika.

Showmax has added news channels to its livestream offering as well.

SABC News and Newzroom Afrika are both part of that offering and the stream quality is superb. Aside from tuning in on your TV, we highly recommend this as the best avenue for hearing the president’s address.

Showmax offers a free, 14 day trial for those who don’t have an account yet. You can sign up for Showmax here.

Aside from the streams we highly recommend following the South African Government and Presidency Twitter accounts for accurate news directly from the source.

SABC radio stations and television stations will also be airing the address.
