Here’s where to stream the PlayStation 5 event this evening

The future of gaming is set to be revealed this evening, at least that’s what PlayStation would have you believe.

Following a rescheduling last week due to wanting more important voices to be heard (a good move on PlayStation’s part), the console maker announced that it would share more information about the PlayStation 5 this week.

And that day has dawned although if you’re in South Africa, like us, the event will take place toward the end of the day.

Tonight’s PlayStation 5 event kicks off at 22:00 local time so we suggest brewing up a fresh pot of coffee to stay awake. The event will run for over an hour so get comfortable.

Sony Interactive Entertainment’s managing director for content and communications, Sid Shuman, also recommends bringing your best headphones along as well.

“It’s also best if you watch while wearing headphones, if you can — there’s some cool audio work in the show, and it might be harder to appreciate if it’s pumped through your phone or laptop speakers,” said Shuman.

The event will be streamed on both Twitch and YouTube and you can find the links to each stream below.

What can we expect? Well we know we’ll be seeing games, but we’d really like a look at the console itself and a hint at what pricing may be.

That last point is especially important for us and many others who are eyeing the next generation of consoles. We aren’t going to speculate on price but we suspect it will be a rather costly piece of kit.

Oh and one last thing, turn chat off for the event. Trust us, it’s simply not worth it.
