The LG Wing hits SA on 1st November and will cost you R20k

Back in September we got to see the LG Wing be revealed to the world, with the device being one of the more interesting additions in 2020 thanks to its second swivelling screen design.

Now you’ll soon be able to see the LG Wing in action for yourself as LG Mobile South Africa has confirmed its local availability and pricing.

To that end, the Wing hits retailers next month, with MTN the first to receive on 1st November, followed by Vodacom on the 7th and Cell C in the middle of the month. It is also currently available for pre-order via Cellucity.

As for recommended retail price, the LG Wing will cots R19 999, making it one of the most expensive flagship phones that the South Korean manufacturer has launched locally this year.

Along with the 6.8″ primary screen which swivels to reveal a smaller 3.9″ one, the Wing is also boasting some solid all-around technology, not to mention that it supports 5G thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset found inside.

Added to this is 8GB RAM, a trio of cameras on the rear (64MP , 13MP ultra-wide and 12MP ultra-wide big pixel), as well as a 4 000mAh battery.

While all of that sounds good as far as 2020 flagship phones go, it remains to be seen whether local consumers are fans of the swivel screen design.

In other news, the LG Wing isn’t the only piece of hardware that got a mention today either, with an active noise cancelling model added to the LG Free Tone lineup.

The HBS-FN7 wireless earphones are now the third flavour in the range, and also feature the charging that doubles as a UV sanitiser, which we spotted earlier this year.

It too is expected in the coming days, and will be the most expensive of the range thanks to the addition of active noise cancelling, with an RRP of R3 999.
