Solidarity said it will continue to fight against the SABC and will file papers at the Labour Court today to have the four journalists reinstated.
“We knew all along that we would win as our case was morally and juristically justified,” Solidarity CEO, Dirk Hermann said.
The Labour Court has ordered the SABC to reinstate Krivani Pillay, Foeta Krige, Suna Venter and Jacques Steenkamp with immediate effect.
BEMAWU wants Lukhanyo Calata and Busisiwe Ntuli reinstated by the SABC immediately and unconditionally.
The “Friends of SABC Journalists” campaign aims to raise around R86 000 for the eight fired journalists who now have no source of income.
Journalists who do not want to comply with the SABC’s editorial policy have basically been told to either comply or face being shown the door.
