With Eskom suspending loadshedding for a large portion of the weekend, Stage 2 is expected to be implemented again at 16:00 on Monday.
Eskom hopes to suspend loadshedding from 05:00 to 16:00 on Women’s Day this week.
Stage 2 loadshedding is in effect until 16:00 thereafter, Stage 3 will come into effect.
Eskom is promising Stage 2 loadshedding on Sunday, but as we saw last weekend, does not seem capable of keeping its promises.
With loadshedding suspended during the national shutdown and Human Right’s Day, it returns alternating between Stage 2 and Stage 3.
After a brief reprieve from loadshedding this weekend, it has returned this week, with Eskom switching between Stage 1 and 2 going forward.
Loadshedding will be implemented to recuperate emergency generation reserves.
Eskom has announced that Stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented this afternoon, with it set to be a fixture until Saturday.
Should the situation worsen, South Africans can expect loadshedding on Wednesday and Thursday evening as well.
