With the new Superman movie – Man of Steel – just about a month away from local release, Gillette has a topical series of videos exploring how the Kryptonian boy wonder gets rid of his sun-powered stubble. Y’see, the movie trailers already show the son of Jor-El kneel before Zod with and without a beard. Since no earthly thing can possibly harm him, how exactly does he turn from hobo into hero?

The best person to answer the question? Bill Nye the Science Guy. Well, him and some other celebrities who have good standing in geekdom. Watch the Gillette’s videos below where Bill, Kevin Smith, the Mythbusters, and Big Bang Theory’s Amy put forth their theories.

Eleven years ago Christo started writing about technology for one of South Africa's (then) leading computer magazines. His first review? A Samsung LCD monitor. Hey, it was hot news, back then. Nowadays he gets more excited about photography, cars, game consoles, and faster internet connections. He's sort of an Apple fan, but will take any opportunity to remind you about his Windows-powered home theatre PC and desire to own a vanilla Android tablet.   Currently uses: Apple 13-inch Macbook Pro with Retina Display, Apple iPhone 5, Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000, Audiofly AF78 Earphones, Xbox 360, Nikon D50.
