BlackBerry may be going through changes, but it still remains a stalwart of South African communications and if you’re looking to make a living as a developer, you could do worse than make apps for the platform. Curious to find out more? Why not attend one of the BlackBerry Jam sessions that are coming to Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town on 18th, 15th and 16th July respectively.

The sessions are organised by BlackBerry itself and are part of an international program to put developers of BB apps in touch with BB people who can help. They’re part hack-day, part skill sharing affairs, but most importantly they’re about pitching your work directly to BlackBerry and being in with a chance of winning $10 000 (R100 300) for having the best idea in Africa and the Middle East.

And we know that you do have that idea, don’t you.

You’ll find more details at the Jam homepage, and sign up details are through Eventbrite for all three events: Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg.
