Google Street View looks out from highest man-made point

Google has taken its Street View product to new heights, literally, with panoramic views from the top of the world’s tallest building – Burj Khalifa in Dubai – added to its usual repertoire of ground-based images.

It’s the first time Street View has climbed a skyscraper, we’re told, although sadly the iconic cars weren’t sent up in the lifts for the challenge, rather Trekkers and Trollies were used to capture the amazing pics. At 828 meters, it’s not overly surprising.

There’s a vid of how it was done above, in the meantime Google, if you want an even bigger challenge let’s see you take pics of Joburg from the top of the Hillbrow Tower, huh?

In other news, Dubai looks really weird from the air, doesn’t it?
