MTN drops uncapped offerings

If you’re hoping to get some uncapped bandwidth from MTN, you’re out of luck. The yellow network pulled the plug on its uncapped 3G offerings, opting instead to give users conventional capped bundled.

Discontinued on the 1st of June, this year, the R299/m Uncapped Lite and R899/m Uncapped Pro contracts will still be honoured for those who signed up. Under those, users had 3GB and 10GB available, per month. When those limits were reached the connections would continue functioning but only at a data rate of 128Kbps.

MTN’s new data offerings, at the old price points, are 5GB (R299) and 18GB (R899) bundles. There’s also a R499 bundle that offers 9GB/month. The out-of-bundle rate for all of these is 29c per megabyte.
