Ativ Q to dual-boot with Windows 8 and Android

Samsung has just announced its brand-new Ativ Q tablet at an event in London; it runs both Windows 8 and Android, and can swap between the two on the fly and even share data in common folders. It will use an Intel Core i5 Haswell processor which should mean excellent performance and battery life of around 9 hours, and a brand-new hinge design lets it convert from tablet to notebook and back again, giving it legs in just about any usage scenario.

As good as all that sounds, it’s the Ativ Q’s display that steals the show in our eyes: it has a QHD resolution of 3200 x 1800 which means a pixel density of 275ppi that should deliver some truly eye-watering visuals.

As this is an international event, there is no news on South African availability or pricing, but since Sammy seems to love SA we doubt it’ll be too long before the Ativ Q arrives on local shores.

More info as we get it.
