ea_infographiciHub founder Eric Hersman just blogged these two nice infographics about mobile usage in East Africa. It’s pretty astounding to see all the numbers we regularly talk about put together like this – there’s 3.6billion SMSes sent (annually we presume?) in Kenya, and  Tanzania has almost the same number of internet users that we do in South Africa (just over eight million, by most estimates).

The images were put together by iHub’s research department, which adds that the number of mobile subscriptions in the region is still growing at 9% a year.
