Gamer petitions MS to reinstate original Xbox One policies

In the wake of the Xbox One’s controversial policies being reversed by Microsoft in June, Gamespot reports that an online petition has been created asking Microsoft to “Give us back the Xbox One we were promised at E3”.

The petition’s creator, David Fontenot, plainly states his plea: “This was to be the future of entertainment. A new wave of gaming where you could buy games digitally, then trade, share or sell those digital licenses. Essentially, it was Steam for Xbox. But consumers were uninformed, and railed against it, and it was taken away because Sony took advantage of consumers uncertainty. We want this back. It can’t be all or nothing, there must be a compromise.”

At the time of writing, the petition has over 10 600 supporters.

Do you agree with Fontenot, or are you happy that Microsoft changed its mind in the wake of the fuss kicked up by gamers over the console’s most controversial features? Let us know in the comments.
