Watch this: A superconducting magnet levitates upside down on a Möbius strip racetrack

Science is cool. If you don’t believe us, just click play on the video above and watch how Andy, from The Royal Institution, plays with a high-temperature superconducting magnet. Once cooled, a superconductor starts behaving in new ways, one of which includes seemingly defying gravity.

Sadly, the use of hugely powerful neodymium magnets in that race track means you won’t see the above demo available as a toy, this Christmas.
