Low-cost iPhone 5C to resist damage from commonly-carried pocket items

The UK’s Daily Mail has reported that Apple’s as-yet-unannounced low-cost iPhone will have protective plastic that is resistant to damage from contact with keys, coins, safety clips and nails.

These items are commonly carried in pockets along with smartphones, and have been known to cause damage to smartphone covers and even screens over time , but that will not be the case with the iPhone 5C.

If you’re not convinced that the use of plastic in the iPhone C will offer sufficient protection, check out the video below that was posted by Hong Kong-based Apple fan site Apple Daily.

Apple will be officially showing off its next-generation handsets at an event being held on the 10th of September.
