Twitter’s Windows 8 app shaping up with real features

If there’s one thing that can’t be denied, it’s that Windows 8’s Start Screen apps are often devoid of actual usable functionality. Some apps offer just a simplified experience, hamstrung by Microsoft’s silly user interface guidelines.

But Twitter won’t let mere rules stand in its way. It’s just updated the Twitter app for Windows 8, finally bringing some crucial features seen on its other platforms. It’s now possible to log in using multiple Twitter accounts, using the Windows 8 app. Great for power users, or those who administrate multiple social accounts in their line of work.

Some Windows 8 magic’s also been included. Individual users, or lists of users, can be pinned to the start screen. That way it’ll be possible to have a tile to click straight through to the tweets of an individual. Slowly, but surely, things will become more usable on Windows 8’s maligned full-screen start menu.
