Cape Town animation house Triggerfish has just sent out a cast list for the Afrikaans version of its next film, Khumba. The film, which goes on general release on 25th October, follows the story of a zebra, Khumba, who has lost half of his stripes and becomes an object of suspicion for the rest of his herd.

The English language version of Khumba debuted at the Toronto Film festival and stars Liam Neeson, Lawrence Fishburne, Steve Buscemi, Richard E. Grant and British comedian Catherine Tate.

The Afrikaans version of the film will feature Hannes Brümmer as Khumba, and childrens’ TV star Rika Sennet as his mum and Francois Stemmet as the villain of the story, the evil leopard Phango.
