Last chance to pre-order Battlefield 4

EA’s awesome-looking Battlefield 4 launches on the 1st of November. The countdown timer on Origin.com says that’s just over two days away, and you know what that means: if you want to get the game for less than full retail price, you’re going to have to place your pre-order in the next 48 hours or so.

EA has been very accommodating by giving PC gamers several different versions of the game to choose from. They can get the basic game that features the single player campaign and access to multiplayer for just R404.09, which is a saving of 10% over its full digital price of R448.99.

Then there’s the Digital Deluxe version for R485.09 that gives you access to the full game plus a future expansion pack, China Rising, as well as three battle-packs that will help you out in multiplayer.

In addition to those, you can also pre-order Battlefield 4 Premium, a R499.99 package that essentially pays for all five planned downloadable content packs (but not China Rising) and gives gamers access to those two full weeks before the official release date. There is no discount for pre-ordering, however, and you must own the base game to make use of it.

Pre-ordering is a fantastic way to save some cash, but fear not if you miss the pre-order window: buying Battlefield 4 via the Origin Store post-release will cost you around R50 less than you’ll pay at a bricks-and-mortar shop.

If you’ve planned ahead and already paid for the game, you can start pre-loading the game now so that it’s ready to go the second it’s released, which with any luck will be on or just after the stroke of midnight on the 1st of November. Open the Origin client on your PC, and you’ll see the button telling you that pre-loading is available. Easy!

Lastly, if you’re dissatisfied for any reason with your purchase, Battlefield 4 qualifies for EA’s new (and surprisingly customer-friendly) Great Game Guarantee policy in which you can get a full refund, no questions asked, within 24 hours of launching the game for the first time, or seven days after purchase if you don’t start it up at all. Nice, eh?

And there you have it. See you all on the battlefield really soon!
