Sweden shares tech knowledge with SA

According to Business Sweden, sub-Saharan Africa is the fastest-growing market for ICT (information and communications technology). It also happens that Sweden itself is one of the world’s most advanced countries when it comes to digital tech and ICT.

And rather than taunting other countries with its superior skills, Business Sweden and the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs has collaborated with cellular network experts, Ericsson, to present an ICT program in Johannesburg, on the 9th and 10th of October. The aim of the program is to bring the two countries together to share knowledge and encourage collaboration, all in an effort to strengthen the ICT sector.

South Africa isn’t the first African nation to benefit from Swedish generosity, though. The program kicked off last year in Nigeria, and events were held in Ghana and Angola afterwards. The Swedish delegation – led by deputy prime minister Jan Björklund, who is joined by 13 Swedish innovators and companies – says that the response has been positive, and that it has met with more than 400 key stakeholders on the continent.
