Back in 2000, the X-Men films kickstarted the modern superhero genre, and we’ve been enjoying some excellent storytelling since then. Granted, it’s not all been successful – every geek cringes when they think about X-Men: The Last Stand or The Green Lantern.

Thankfully, the newest film in the mutant realm, X-Men: Days of Future Past, looks to be a return to form. Bryan Singer is back at the helm, and if this trailer is anything to go by we’re in for a hell of a ride. At the very least, it teases the film’s time-travel premise (helping the name make a lot more sense) and shows us how the two X-Men timelines come together: old and wisened Professor X, from the first films, gets face-to-face with his younger self, from X-Men origins, and inspires him to help save the world.

Eleven years ago Christo started writing about technology for one of South Africa's (then) leading computer magazines. His first review? A Samsung LCD monitor. Hey, it was hot news, back then. Nowadays he gets more excited about photography, cars, game consoles, and faster internet connections. He's sort of an Apple fan, but will take any opportunity to remind you about his Windows-powered home theatre PC and desire to own a vanilla Android tablet.   Currently uses: Apple 13-inch Macbook Pro with Retina Display, Apple iPhone 5, Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000, Audiofly AF78 Earphones, Xbox 360, Nikon D50.
