Humble Bundle now features daily sales

The Humble Bundle website launched itself into gaming history by first offering pay-what-you-like bundles of Indie games that lasted for two weeks or so. Gamers could split what they paid between the games’ developers, one of the charities the site supports, offer a tip to the Humble Bundle people, or all three. Then they added a weekly sale punting a similar idea except instead of just Indie games, they included titles from big-name publishers, and now they’ve added a new Store that offers daily specials on individual Indie games.

There are nine games in the Store’s list of opening specials: Prison Architect Alpha, Rogue Legacy, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, Don’t Starve, Gunpoint, The Swapper, Natural Selection 2 and Orcs Must Die 2. The discounts on offer range from 50% to a very generous 75% off each game’s full retail price, and payments can be made with Visa and Mastercard credit cards and via Paypal.

Interestingly, buying a game from the Store doesn’t give you the option to split the purchase amount between the developer, the Humble Bundle site or a charity, making it more of a regular storefront than an extension of the Humble Bundle concept.

If you’re interested in a recommendation, Gunpoint is definitely worth the R50-odd being asked; it’s a side-scrolling puzzle adventure game that was made by just one man. It’s funny, clever and loads of fun to figure your way through each level.

Grab it now, though, today’s sale ends at 9pm tonight, South African time.
