iPhoneography 2013 exhibition now open in Johannesburg

Last night marked the opening of the second annual iPhoneography exhibition in Johannesburg, at the Sandton Drive branch of Core Group’s iStore franchise.

Selected entrants from around the country attended the opening event, where their photographs were on display, in real art-gallery fashion, for the whole world to see. Well, at least those who go to view the gallery.

Four categories are on show, with a winner for each category selected by the judges. Each category winner nabbed an iPad mini, while the contest’s overall winner walked away with a new Macbook Air.

Core Group says that it continues to partner with Marc Forrest, the founder if the iPhoneography contest in South Africa, as it believes in the strengths and popularity of the iPhone as an everyday camera. Some of the photos hanging at the exhibition are truly remarkable, too, proving that real talent doesn’t need an expensive digital SLR.

The gallery will be open to view during store hours, until Thursday the 14th of November.
