MakeGamesSA needs local dev talent to make awesome games

Do you develop games, whether its for a company or in your spare time? Are you South African? Then listen up: MakeGamesSA needs your help.

One of the founding members of the local hub for South Africa’s game developers is applying to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to become the official industry body for game development in South Africa. If that is realised, it will open an official government channel of communications for game developers, and give them access to government funding programmes for job and skills development.

In the post on the MakeGamesSA forum, Nick Hall (LexAquillia) calls on local developers to pledge their support for his application by the 27th of November. The application to the DTI is for MakeGamesSA to be “approved as an Export Council, Industry Association or Joint Action Group” – and independent developers need all the representation they can get.
