Aah, the age of reboots – where no film franchise is too sacred to get a fresh coat of paint thanks to special effects, a modern director, and an all-new cast. Thankfully, not all reboots are terrible. Take The Amazing Spider-Man, for instance – which now has a sequel that has a brand new trailer.

Andrew Garfield’s portrayal of Peter Parker, in the alternate universe where Gwen Stacy (played by Emma Stone), is a more serious, darker take on the wall crawler’s life story. Comic book fans are pleased that Parker hacks together his own web shooters, and relies on a few other tech bits to get by. The first movie was an enjoyable romp, again introducing audiences to Spidey’s back story (even though Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man series did a decent job), all while being far less emo than the previous trilogy.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theatres next year, and this time around Spidey’s senses will be tingling as he fends off a trio of baddies: Electro, The Rhino, and  Green Goblin. Often trailers give away too much of the movie, but honestly, even if the full film has a as much action as these two-minutes-and-forty-seconds, it’ll still be a thrill ride. And hopefully some more classic bits from the comics also make an appearance this time around.

Eleven years ago Christo started writing about technology for one of South Africa's (then) leading computer magazines. His first review? A Samsung LCD monitor. Hey, it was hot news, back then. Nowadays he gets more excited about photography, cars, game consoles, and faster internet connections. He's sort of an Apple fan, but will take any opportunity to remind you about his Windows-powered home theatre PC and desire to own a vanilla Android tablet.   Currently uses: Apple 13-inch Macbook Pro with Retina Display, Apple iPhone 5, Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000, Audiofly AF78 Earphones, Xbox 360, Nikon D50.
