BBM for Android Gingerbread now available

When BBM for Android was released, Gingerbread users were left out in the cold as the app was only available for Android Ice Cream Sandwhich (4.0) and up. But after weeks of beta testing, BlackBerry has announced that it’s now available for download, delivering on the promise it made back in January.

Exisiting BBM for Android users can use the Find Friends feature to search for friends who have just joined BBM.

“With 21 per cent of the global Android user base running on Gingerbread, we’re excited to welcome lots of new users in to the BBM community,” said Jeff Gadway, head of product and brand marketing for BBM.

Download BBM for Android now from the Google Play Store.
