10 female tech founders to watch in Africa

Across Africa, women are making strides not only as employees in tech companies but as founders of tech companies that are changing the African tech landscape and putting African countries on the world map.

Forbes contributor, Mfonobong Nsehe, has compiled a list of 10 female tech founders to watch this year in Africa, two of them being South Africans, Barbara Mallinson of Obami and Annette Muller of DotNxt.

Mallinson is the co-founder of Obami, a South African-based social e-learning platform used by schools and organisations in Africa, Europe and America. Obami, which was founded in 2007, connects distinct parties within the education space – teachers, learners, NGOs and government — and enables them share educational resources and also provides an assessment module to improve learners’ participation and performance. Obami is accessible via web and mobile.
