With all the publicity and attention around the Oscar Pistorius trial lately, it was probably only a matter of time before online scammers found a way to cash in on it.
A fake Facebook account called Oscar Pistorius Official has been soliciting money from users, Pistorius’ spokeswoman Anneliese Burgess has told the press.
The fraudsters are also using Twitter, claiming that the @OscarHardTruth handle has been hacked and are redirecting people to an alternative fraudulent account.
At the time of the announcement, the page was still active, but after doing a quick search on Facebook, we found that it was no longer on the social network and of course, the Twitter account is still active.
