New Dragon Age trailer hints at much intrigue, confirms release date

We’re already quite excited about Dragon Age: Inquisition thanks to some well-produced trailers and its use of EA’s incredibly capable Frostbite 3 graphics engine (which was last seen demolishing skyscrapers in Battlefield 4).

The latest trailer for Inquisition came out yesterday, and shows off your character arriving in the middle of a cataclysmic event that destroys the leadership of two of the game’s major factions and tears open the Fade, allowing demons to pour into the world. It also lets him or her step into a leadership role within The Inquisition, a mysterious organisation that seeks to restore order to the world.

In an interview with Polygon, the game’s creative director Mike Laidlaw said “There’s an interesting undertone here of people in the world believing that you have been sent as a leader by the maker of the universe. As a player, I have the option of saying ‘Oh yeah, I’m the chosen one’ or asking what the hell they are talking about. It’s up to the player.”

The official release date is October 7 according to the video, but in South Africa it gets here three days later on October 10th, 2014, out on all major platforms barring the Wii and Wii U.
