Samsung and Amazon launch Kindle service for Galaxy users

Samsung has snagged even more free content to use as an incentive for you to grab a new Galaxy S5 with the announcement that it has teamed up with Amazon to give Samsung Galaxy device owners access to all of the books, magazines and newspapers on Amazon but with a twist. Included in the Kindle for Samsung app is Samsung Book Deals, which offers Galaxy device users 12 free ebooks per year, with a selection of one of four books to choose from each month.

It’s yet another content deal for Galaxy S5 owners who will also get a 12 month subscription to the nMusic streaming service as well as the ability to rent movies from DStv’s BoxOffice streaming service directly from their smartphones.

The Kindle for Samsung app is available in the Samsung App store and replaces the standard Kindle application from the Google Play store with a skinned version that fits in with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface. Users will require both a Samsung account as well as an Amazon account to qualify for the free books offer and books bought will be available to read on any other device registered to the same Amazon account.
