Joburg residents turn to social media to clean Braamfontein Spruit

The Braamfontein Spruit area has been a sight for sore eye for the residents, business owners, specific interest groups who live alongside it for quite some time now. In an effort to make the Spruit good again, a group of concerned citizens have decided to organise a joint clean-up day on June 7th.

Planned activities for the day include more than just cleaning the area up, there will be educational sessions from specialists on topics such as alien vegetation, erosion and pollution, competitions between suburbs and schools, raffles and fundraising for future activities and a fun day out for families.

A number of organisations will be involved in and sponsoring the event, including Joburg City Parks, the Joburg Zoo, Pikitup, the Miss Earth finalists and ambassadors, River Rangers, ADT, 7 Arrows and ER24.

The organisers of Spruit Day need your help and are calling on businesses, inidviduals, clubs and organisers to sponsor and be part of  the day to help make the area a beautiful place to live in.
