Etolls coming to two KZN highways this November

The South African National Roads Agency (SANRALl) has just announced that the ever-controversial etolls will be coming to two of KwaZulu-Natal’s highways this November.

According to News24, the etoll gantries will be erected at the Mariannhill Toll Plaza on the N3 and on the N2 at the Oribi Toll Plaza. Etolls will be added the existing toll gates and not be separate additional tolls such as the ones in Gauteng.

The etoll gates will only allow drivers with etags to make use of them, those without etags will have to use to normal toll lanes and pay cash.

“The manual toll booths can process between 200 and 300 vehicles an hour where as up to 700 vehicles an hour can pass through using e-tags,” said SANRAL KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State regional manager Logashri Sewnarain.
