Are you a rugby fan and in particular a fan of the South African national side the Springboks? If you answered in the affirmative then you should already be checking the end of this story for a download link to get the official Springbok app for Android smartphones and tablets.

The new app, which will be joined by an iOS version, aims to be the nexus of all information regarding the national team’s activities including statistics on games and players as well as  historical score summaries and team sheets from 1891 all the way up until today.

“The mobile phone landscape has changed significantly in the past couple of years and we at SARU realise the importance of keeping up with technology,” said SARU CEO Jurie Roux. “We already have a very well-established website, mobisite, Twitter, Facebook and other social media channels as well as a digital magazine and the development of the smartphone app is the logical next step in putting our supporters in direct touch with the Springboks and South African rugby.”

The app is available in the Google Play Store for both Android tablets and Android smartphones.
